Alen Kovač

Head of the Economic Research Department, Erste&Steiermärkische Bank Croatia

Alen was born and raised in Zagreb, where he also obtained his academic education focused on macroeconomic topics. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in 2005, where he was also an occasional external associate until 2008. He began his professional career in 2005 at Erste&Steiermärkische Bank d.d. in Zagreb as a junior economist and was soon promoted to the position of senior economist. Since 2010, he has been the Head of the Economic Research Department, where he is involved in business segments related to the analysis of the macroeconomic environment in Croatia and Southeast Europe, research of capital markets and equities, and various economic sectors.

Alen actively participates in seminars and workshops related to financial and economic topics and is a member of the Chief Economists’ Club at the Croatian Banking Association. He is an experienced economist with extensive experience in researching macroeconomic trends and capital markets.
